Sophie was born in Anchorage, Alaska where she captured the heart of her owner, Morgan, as the shy, quiet runt of her litter. Two days after arriving in her new home she turned into a tornado of fur and energy, leaving her mom slightly exasperated but ultimately glad to have such a curious and energetic companion.
She spent the first few years of her life barely knowing what a leash was, leaving her pawprints in the dirt and snow of mountains and trails all over Alaska. Sophie has been backcountry skiing, camping, road tripping, hiking, rock climbing, and in her prime she was quite the long-distance runner. She even outran an avalanche once! Sophie is also well-traveled, having kept her mom company through several cross-country moves throughout her life.
In more recent years, Sophie prefers swimming, fetch, and naps more than running long distances, though she still gets excited when mom laces up her running shoes for a jog through the neighborhood. She also enjoys playing with and teaching manners to her foster brothers and sisters that come to stay with her sometimes.
Sophie frequently comes to work with her mom. Her office duties include keeping everyone stocked with pets and smiles, inspecting trash cans for the food humans accidentally threw away, bossing Farley around, and putting Mike in a better mood.
